Restore and awaken the senses.
This Care Home project was a complex refurbishment project which added an entire floor to the top of the existing building. The original building was completely re-space planned to allow for larger bedrooms with en suites and new luxury day spaces. The design concept was to provide a space of retreat in an urban setting. An accessible sensory courtyard garden helps to restore and awaken the senses.
The interior spaces are based on the idea that green space can enhance well being. Lighting, natural materials, organic forms, courtyard views and a soothing colour palette are used throughout the scheme to give a sensory ‘hug’ to the visitor and resident enabling a feeling of calm.
